Photo Restoration
As the artist of this piece, my main objective was to gently restore these photos into look new and clear. I wanted to rid them of any imperfections such as wrinkles, ripping, creases, blurriness, discoloration etc. For this project I primarly used the clone stamp to patch any ripped areas by using a clone of other parts of the image, the spot healing brush to get rid of small discolorations, and filter tools to sharpen and restore color to the image. During this project i faced the challenge of making the changes look natural and not to overdone. I do think that I succeeded in this, and did not "overdo it". In my opinion the photos don't look to edited and still seem to be natural. I really wanted to make all my changes look gradual. I did approach these two photos very differently. For the first photo I focused on using the clone tool to restore patches and slightly filtered the image after. For the second image i worked mainly with the bandage tool and filter to restore color and make the image look less blurry. This image need more of a clarification, where the first one needed more of a repair.
